After I recently upgraded to Nougat on my Gionee S6S, my Chromecast stopped working. I used to connect the Chromecast to my phone with WiFi tethering, and it used to work even though it is not officially supported. But, with this update, my phone just wouldn’t find the Chromecast, even on a standard WiFi network. I fiddled around with it, and used my mad Googling skills, but I just couldn’t make it work. I had given it up as hopeless, when I discovered this post. Turns out, all you have to do is to update the Google Play Services to the current Beta, and viola! It works flawlessly now (as it did before). Update your Play Services from the Play Store.
